Biography

Pam Shuler has been singing since the age of 4. She has sung in many venues ranging from community productions and church programs to festivals and private events. Although she sings a variety of music genres, her favorite is contemporary Christian. Pam has participated in and lead church-based worship ministries at churches in Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Her debut CD released in 2007 is entitled While I Wait. Regarding the CD Pam writes: ..this life requires much waiting. It can be difficult, but the waiting process is essential to build and strengthen our faith. One thing I am sure of - God sees the big picture and we cannot. His answers are always the best and his timing is perfect. WHERE THE STORY STARTED Like every other singer/performer, music was a very important part of my life early on. I was cared for by Marian Wilson who lived near our farm outside of Napoleon, IN. She was the first person to teach me to sing at the young age of 4. Marian taught my twin sister Angie and I a song we performed at a gospel sing near Versailles, IN. The song was Do Lord and we sang it in front a full crowd at the Baptist church hosting the event. I remember all the people looking at me and I wasn't afraid. Growing up in the Catholic church in Napoleon, IN gave us many chances to improve and use our talents. We often sang there. My grandmother Marie was a respected and renowned music instructor in the South Ripley school system for many years. She received a double degree in music and education from the well known Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Because of her teaching and encouragement to perform, many doors opened for me as I developed my singing ability. Throughout junior and senior high school my opportunities broadened through leadership and participation in events at school and in the community. How can I forget leading songs at 4-H camp and the fair and competing at solo and ensemble competitions in Indiana? One of my favorite times was singing the National Anthem with a girl's ensemble at some of the boy's basketball games. We also sang another tune by the Andrew Sisters The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B. While putting myself through engineering school I was given many new and life changing experiences. During my sophomore year studying in Flint, MI, I gave my heart to the Lord and was forever changed. I continued to do lots of singing, especially helping with Chi Alpha ministries on the campus of Kettering University (then known as GMI Engineering & Management Institute). Today I still hear from some of those wonderful friends I made while obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Many of the friends I met in Michigan now live all over the U.S. and other parts of the world. I have moved many times after living in Flint, MI for 10 years. One of my biggest moves was to the state of Wisconsin with my husband and children in 2001. After a few moves we are settling into our home located in Beaver Dam, WI. I'm still singing at weddings, funerals, retreats, and festivals and a variety of venues all over the place. I add to the list each year and enjoy it immensely. My biggest thrill in life is still singing and in addition to that I now also write songs. I have TEN more "songs in the making" and hope to share them sometime in 2008. The While I Wait CD contains 9 songs, 7 of which are originals and the remaining two are cover songs. Pam continues to sing and write new songs and has been interviewed on WBEV 1430 AM and reviewed by TAXI and Indie-Music A&R staff. PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS: vocal performance and music instructors: Marion Wilson, Marie Meisberger, Jeff Hyde, Duren Gutierrez, Roberta Brawner, and Willow Creek artist seminars, interviews on WRBI, WBEV, audio sample of I Remember for Casey Kasem in Detroit, MI Bachelor of Science in Engineering from (GMI) Kettering University in Flint, MI. PAST PERFORMANCES: Beaver Dam Home and Business Expo, and Senior Expo; Cup O'Joy in Green Bay, WI; Festivals; Battle of the Christian Bands; Music Director for children's musical Father Knows Best, Worship Team Ministry leader at several churches in the Midwest, weddings, funerals, memorial services, veterans celebrations, The National Anthem at sporting events; community play The Sound of Music; 4H community emcee; State solo and ensemble competitions; college and community based talent shows Currently selling CD's at several local retail stores, regional area Wisconsin hospitals, Church bookstores in southeastern Indiana, Davis, California, and Flint, Michigan.
