Biography
Geoff Houser and David Zullo make up half of the accomplished Pennsylvania based, four-piece rock group eighteenth hour. Since 2001, eighteenth hour has taken the Northeast by storm by releasing three CDs of original material (including the award-winning 2003 CD titled "SHINE"), playing over 300 shows in some of the best original music venues in New York City, Philadelphia and the Lehigh Valley (including Arlenes Grocery, The Lions Den, Grape Street Philadelphia, Godfrey Daniels, Musikfest, etc.) and generating a strong buzz from fans and industry professionals as a result of their stellar live performances (which has lead to thousands of independent CD sales). eighteenth hours accomplishments include receiving "5 out of 5 stars" for the "SHINE" CD review in Pulse Weekly Magazine (February 18, 2004 edition) and winning the 2003 WZZO 15th Annual Backyard Bands Competition which was judged by representatives from Atlantic, Virgin and Interscope Records. Meanwhile, in November 2005, Geoff Houser and David Zullo released their second solo CD titled "WOULD I LIE?" which was a follow-up to their debut solo CD titled "MARY STREET" (2004). Both solo albums departed from the mainstream rock sound of eighteenth hour and nurtured a mellower, acoustic sound featuring a wide range of musical styles & influences including hints of folk and even R&B. Below is an excerpt from Pulse Weekly Magazines review of "MARY STREET":
Geoff Houser and David Zullo have released their first solo effort, "Mary Street". The six-song collection of fantastically crafted acoustic pop is rich with texture, vibe and spirit. (Words like "heartfelt" and "soulful" come to mind.) Housers voice drips with emotion as he belts out lyrics about casual observation and past personal experiencesthis musical collaboration is explosive. The result is a beautifully constructed piece that makes this listener eager to hear more."
