Biography
The Seattle, WA band known as Bench Grinder is bringing back the best of the 90s surge of the alternative rock that was born at the hands of Nirvana, Weezer and Smashing Pumpkins. Members Chris, Bo, Ryan & Tommy take pride in this assertion and the result is some of the most refreshing music on the scene today.
There is a sense of play in the songs of Bench Grinder that has gone missing among some of the more mainstream artists in this genre. “Music has become a lot like organized religion. Everyone takes themselves so seriously they forgot what it's all about.
We just try to entertain people and have a good time doing it. And so far, so good!” says the band.
Drawing comparisons to Fountains of Wayne, Foo Fighters, The Posies and Jimmy Eat World, Bench Grinder stands poised to make a mark in this sub-genre of music that has the potential to breakthrough in a big way. The band has already played on the main stages of some festivals like Hempfest and The Core Tour as well as licensed their music to MTV and The Oxygen Channel for use in various programs.
