Shay Dillon, the 2006 International Award winner for the Best Female Solo Artist from the Music Aid International Music Awards began as a young performer with her first appearance on Nashville television at the age of 13. Dedicated to her art, the self taught artist secured work with other artists in the Nashville area and began a long journey to finding her style. Working with Country Bands to Top 40 cover bands and singing any where and every where including seedy Honky Tonks, Shay began to develop her niche. With influences ranging from Country and Southern Gospel to Rock and Blues, somewhere in between all of these genres Shay emerged with her own voice.

Shay returned to Northern California after her short 4 year stint in the Nashville area and began writing with Paul Kraushaar from Para-Sight Studios and Productions in Nevada City. Shay and Paul have compiled a large catalog of songs available for licensing.

Shay conveys not only a soulful and passionate delivery but one that is sure to make you believe that she believes what she is singing. Fans and critics alike are enthralled by Shays earthy, raw mix of Blues, Soul and R&B. Her effortless segues from sweet soulful sounds to a powerful earth shaking belt are evidence of the command Shay has over her craft and her delivery most definitely evokes emotion in the listener. Currently, on her Debut Album Release "Through the Fire", several of Shays original songs are receiving International airplay, licensing and have been included on 5 compilation CDs ( Music Aid, Shmusicmusic, Research Musics ‘Just Talent’ , Vision4music and Indie Music For Life) to be distributed Internationally for 2007. 3 cuts from the album are featured on the Hurricane Healing Collection sold through Musicane to benefit hurricane victims. She currently is one of the 10 finalists for V4 Music song contest with a $10,000 award prize and a single song recording contract with Hilltop Studios in Nashville. Shays first cut on the Album “Happy…Every Day� received an honorable mention in the West Coast Songwriter contest in the Jazz category.

She has been a consistent Blues and R&B chart topper on Garageband.com, Indie-music.com, iSound.com and Broadjam.com earning her a larger International fan base and exposure. Shay has published works with Thomas Nelson Publishing and Aknackformusic based in Nashville and is presently included in MamaPUBlooza Publishing catalog, Blue Pie Productions, Songs with Vision and Audiosparx. Shays debut album has numerous cuts being played on Internet as well as public Radio, including On the Horizon Radio which boasts 4 million plus listeners a week.

There are multitudes of independent musicians vying for a music niche but Shays incredible heart felt vocals are winning the hearts and respect of fans as well as other musicians all over the world. She has been likened to artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Lydia Pentz, Janice Joplin, Aretha Franklin and even Norah Jones, yet is unique in her sound and delivery. Even though Shay has been around long enough to “pay her dues� she is being discovered as one of the “newest� Indie talents on the block.
