Ivan Beecroft Releases “Believe”

Written by: Melanie Gomez

Ivan Beecroft is a retro rock/90’s grunge pop artist from Melbourne, Australia. Believe it or not, he plays the drums, bass, guitars, piano/synths, and vocals for his tracks! After releasing his last album Dirty Lie, Ivan recently released the single” Believe” that will be off a new album that he has in the works.

With lyrics like, “I waited so long just to hold you in my arms / You took your time only for me to let you down,” “Believe” is a song about the bittersweet difficulties in relationships. Like most artists, Ivan turns to music for relief.

As a steel worker, Ivan had his hand caught in a faulty machine. With the pain due to that injury, music was his form of solace. His experiences in the workplace inspired some of his music, which can sometimes be angry or dark. Aside the darker songs, he has happier songs too that are inspired by his teenage sweetheart. All of these emotions is what makes Ivan’s music real.

Ivan’s collection of music includes David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, The Church, Soundgarden, Paul Kelly, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and more. All of which he is inspired from.
