Matteo Scher Releases “New York And Me”

Written by: Melanie Gomez

Matteo Scher is a pop/piano rock singer and songwriter from New York who just released his latest single “New York And Me” off of his EP Something Good.

With music similar to Tom Odell and/or Billy Joel, “New York And Me” consists of an old and new sound due to his soulful and jazzy voice blended with his talented piano playing throughout the song.

Born into a family who loves music, Matteo started playing piano by the age of four as well as guitar and violin soon after. With a family so passionate about music, Matteo ended up recording an album with his sister back in 2013 as well an EP with guidance from the legendary Alicia Keys.

After playing venues all over New York City such as Webster Hall, Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, The Bitter End, The Bowery Electric and many others, Matteo was ready to release his first EP, available now, at the young age of just 20-years-old.

Matteo shared saying, “I wrote this in the summer of 2016 after a full year of living in the city. The song is about people, artist’s in general who live in New York, love New York and ultimately leave New York and while this pains me, its ultimately ok, because I know that without a doubt, that will have to come back through someday.”
