Reviews: Joe Caprice ~ Acoustic
Posted on Saturday, March 06, 2004 @ 12:30:32 UTC
Topic: Reviews

Artist: Joe Caprice

CD: Acoustic

Home: San Francisco, Calfornia

Style: Acoustic Rock/Pop

Quote: "There are many musicians whose albums I have to hear a few times before I fall in love. This was love at first sound."

By Jeanette Drake

Joe Caprice has done something that not everyone has the ability to do with me. He completely captivated me; he took my breath away. There are many musicians whose albums I have to hear a few times before I fall in love. This was love at first sound.

His album is something that hardly anyone does anymore; well, no one gets the recognition they deserve from this type of album. It is completely acoustic – which just so happens to be the name of the CD as well.

Acoustic had me for two reasons. One, because I am a sucker for acoustic music, but also because of what he has to say. He addresses the exact things that people are dealing with like “Home” where he says:

Where did I go
And where did I drift to

This CD is a happy compromise between my parent’s music and my own, and it has found a place next to my favorite CDs.

Joe Caprice's album "Acoustic" is a collection of not only great guitar playing but also of wonderful lyrics.

Each song has not only its own distinct sound that he conveys with the guitar but each song has its own message that each of us can relate to in our own way.

Take the time to listen to "Acoustic" and you will be pleasantly surprised.

This CD is officially on my favorites list, too. It is also always in my CD changer. I love it.

One thing that usually disappoints me is when I hear a great song on the radio and buy the CD, only to find out the rest of the CD isn't consistent, and I feel like I ended up paying a lot of money for just that one decent song. Not so here!

I am so pleased that "Pretend" sounds awesome on the radio, and when I listened to the whole CD, I loved every song! Each one takes me on a different emotional ride and touches me in a new way. I immediately knew this was an excellent CD, but the more I listen, the more I love it!

These are all powerfully written and performed songs. It's not often that an artist can deliver an all acoustic album, but "Acoustic" is incredible! I think this guy is going to go far!
