In 2010, Digital Radio Revenue Topped Subscriptions for the First Time

Internet and satellite radio music services like Pandora brought in more revenue than paid all-you-can-eat music subscriptions from firms such as Rhapsody and MOG for the first time last year, according to statistics released earlier this month by the Recording Industry Association of America. Digital performance royalties from those radio services grew 60% to $249.2 million in 2010 from $155.5 million a year earlier. Paid subscription plans saw revenue shrink 5 percent to $200.9 million from $213.1 million, even though the number of subscribers grew to 1.5 million from 1.2 million. Complete Article
