Skype Founders' Music Venture Rdio Gets More Funding

The mobile music space has just picked up a bit more capital: Rdio, music discovery and sharing startup, has raised financing from Mangrove Capital Partners. Rdio was founded by Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, who also created Skype, Joost and file sharing site Kazaa. The service is currently only available in the U.S. and Canada but the plan is to extend that to other markets, too. Rdio, which lets users discover, listen to and share music, and works both on and offline, has apps for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices. Users can also access the service from a PC.
